🚨 ETH institutional buying is cooling off! US spot Ethereum ETFs have seen net outflows for 23 consecutive trading days, setting a record for the longest streak in history!
Ethereum’s funding picture is sending a signal worth watching closely.
On November 1, data published by Glassnode on X showed that US spot Ethereum ETFs had recorded net outflows for 23 consecutive trading days, setting a new record for the longest consecutive outflow streak since these products launched!
What does this mean?
Simply put: traditional finance investors who had been actively buying ETH through ETFs have recently become noticeably less enthusiastic.
📉 A few key points to watch:
1️⃣ Sustained outflows: Net outflows for 23 consecutive trading days suggest that demand for funds through the ETF channel is cooling significantly.
2️⃣ A shift in market sentiment: In August and September this year, traditional investors bought large amounts of ETH. Now, however, fund flows have changed noticeably.
3️⃣ Short-term buying pressure: Continued ETF net outflows mean less new capital is coming in from traditional financial markets, which could weaken ETH’s short-term upside momentum.
💡 What does this mean for ETH going forward?
ETFs are like a gateway for traditional capital to enter the crypto market.
When funds continue to flow in, it means new buyers are entering the market. When net outflows continue, it means less capital is entering ETH through this channel.
That said, don’t rush to conclusions:
ETF net outflows don’t mean every institution is selling ETH, nor do they mean Ethereum’s long-term value has changed.
Keep an eye on three signals:
When will ETF net outflows end?
When will traditional capital start flowing back in?
Can ETH’s price and on-chain demand improve at the same time?
My take: For the market to keep rising, sentiment alone isn’t enough—ultimately, real money needs to come in.
Twenty-three consecutive days of outflows have already sounded an alarm for ETH.
Do you think this is institutions taking short-term profits, or traditional investors reducing their ETH allocations?
