【Like the crypto market after the 2020 DeFi boom faded: prices stabilized first, but volume never came back】

Back then, altcoins stopped taking turns surging, while the index swung in a narrow range day after day. It looked like a bottom was forming, but the truly smart money still wasn’t stepping in. BNB has been somewhat similar this week: up 1.2% over 24 hours but still down 3.5% over seven days, caught between support at 687.65 and resistance at 731.34, with trading volume on the low side.

Last week, I predicted that the area around 687.65 would provide support, and I got the direction right. But jumping to the conclusion that the price had “stabilized” after seeing a one-day rebound was a mistake. A deep decline only means selling pressure has eased; it doesn’t mean fresh capital has returned.

In practical terms, low trading volume first affects fee income for exchanges and market makers. Developers on BNB Chain will also find that user growth and willingness to pay are both waiting for the winds to change. The business case isn’t there for now: investors are willing to wait, but not to pay a premium in advance for growth expectations.

Next week, I’ll be watching just two things: whether 731.34 can be broken on rising volume, and whether 687.65 can hold. Without a pickup in volume, any supposed breakout is still just price action within the range.

My view hasn’t changed completely this week, but I’ve gone from “a rebound after a deep decline” to “waiting for volume to confirm.” It wasn’t the price that changed my mind, but the trading volume. Do you think this is a genuine takeoff, or will the market keep grinding sideways?
