Why Hackers Attack Binance, Bybit & Bitget — Yet Still Can't Touch Coinbase: 🧵👇

959K BTC. $103.31 Billion. 14 Years. 🔒

1. Not One Giant Honeypot — 69.8 Million Separate Addresses
Most exchanges pool billions in a few active “hot wallets” for quick withdrawals.

Coinbase doesn’t do that. Using Multi-Party Computation (MPC), complete private keys never exist on disk or in RAM—each key is born split into mathematical shares across various isolated hardware chips.

The result: Its $103.31 billion is spread across 69.8 million separate addresses. When hackers breached a Binance DevOps laptop (Oct. 2026), they hijacked hot-wallet signing and drained $6.36 billion in 20 minutes. At Coinbase, hacking an engineer’s laptop gets you zero complete keys—just one useless share.
