$TRUMP Citi: European gas prices poised to rise in 2027 as Middle East risks escalate
Middle East
European natural gas prices could remain vulnerable to sharp increases in 2027 as markets assess the risks of renewed conflict in the Middle East and potential damage to liquefied natural gas infrastructure, according to Citi analysts.

The bank estimates that benchmark Dutch TTF futures prices for winter 2026–27 could reach €85.00 per megawatt-hour if the conflict escalates while liquefaction facilities remain undamaged. Citi noted that prices could rise to around €154.00 per megawatt-hour if LNG facilities are damaged and taken offline.
