Binance hack: the spy-romance rumor, checked.
A post claiming a Binance engineer dated a North Korean spy got over 450K views today. Binance co-founder Yi He answered it directly: not true, and ZachXBT, named as the source, did not say it. We found no such post from ZachXBT on X either.
The chain cannot see laptops or relationships. What it shows fits Binance's own account from Oct 30, an attacker using its withdrawal system:
- Binance's own hot wallets on ten chains signed the transfers to the attacker.
- Binance 14's own key signed 50 EIP-7702 permissions at the nonce it had 3 minutes before they were used.
- Bitcoin left in the format of Binance's own withdrawals.
Who was at the keyboard, only Binance's logs can tell.
