According to CNBC, Accenture global banking lead Michael Abbott said companies that block AI agents such as Meta Muse may struggle to succeed over the long term, and should instead develop secure ways for authorized agents to interact with them. JPMorgan Chase blocks external agents from acting for retail customers, while Amazon has blocked Muse and other outside agents. A Billions Network audit of 51 large U.S. retailers found that five, including Amazon, explicitly restrict agents, while 37 block shopping agents through older bot rules; none had a way for a verified agent to complete a purchase. Abbott cited Accenture research showing that 65% of consumers are open to using a GPT-like financial assistant through a Gen AI platform or digital wallet, and 71% would welcome one in their primary bank's mobile app.
