Entering “100 USDC” doesn’t always mean 100 USDC will arrive. The fee changes the math. 🧾

With the phased reopening announced by Binance on November 1, questions are also resurfacing about how much withdrawals cost. Whether a network is available answers one question; how much the recipient will receive answers another.

Binance’s guide distinguishes between specifying the amount you want to arrive and setting the total that leaves your account. In the first case, the fee is added to the total; in the second, it is deducted from the amount sent.

Hypothetical example: if the fee were 1 USDC, receiving 100 would require a total of 101. If the total were 100, 99 would arrive. That 1 USDC is only to explain the math, not a current fee.

For me, the figure that prevents surprises is the final amount the other party receives. The fee can change, and a cheaper network is only useful if the destination supports that network and token. Those details need to be checked in each case.
