“Blob” often appears in Ethereum upgrade news, but what exactly does this data contain?
First, the definition: blobs have their own fee market. The blob base fee automatically rises or falls depending on the gap between usage and the target, and is also burned.
How it works: blobs are cheap because blob data is stored for only about 18 days, doesn't need to be kept permanently, and isn't processed by the EVM, putting much less strain on nodes.
When Layer 2 networks write blob data to mainnet, they also pay blob fees in $ETH . The current price is 2265.52.
Be skeptical when you see claims of high returns.
