Came across TokenPost / FactSet (John Butters): Earnings growth expectations for the U.S. “Magnificent Seven” in Q3 have fallen to around 22.6%, versus about 32.6% for the other 493 S&P 500 companies. If that holds, it would be the first time the latter have outpaced the Magnificent Seven since Q4 2022.

The hard numbers: A month ago, the Magnificent Seven were still at around 33.6%; so far this quarter, five of them have posted EPS growth below that of the other 493. Nvidia and Apple have yet to report their latest quarterly results. Analysts also expect this pattern to continue in Q4.

The picks-and-shovels sellers are still charging ahead, but their earnings growth is starting to yield to the broader S&P 500—make a note of this “first” over the weekend.
