Madagascar’s Ministry of Justice: 148 people involved in cryptocurrency investment scams handed over to China since September
Foresight News reports, citing 2424.mg, that 49 Chinese nationals convicted in Madagascar of cryptocurrency network fraud were handed over to China on October 26 to continue serving their sentences. They include 40 men and 9 women. Since September, Madagascar has handed over a total of 148 people.
Foresight News previously reported that Madagascar carried out raids from August to September this year, successfully dismantling 13 online scam compounds operated by Chinese nationals. A single day’s operation uncovered cryptocurrency worth approximately $52 million and seized more than 3,200 electronic devices, while nearly 400 people suspected of involvement were arrested.
