$TRUMP Saudi economy contracts 3.8%, marking its first
consecutive quarterly decline since 2023
The Saudi economy contracted for a second consecutive quarter, as the ongoing war involving Iran and continued escalation with the Houthis in Yemen disrupted oil production and exports.

Gross domestic product shrank by 3.8% year on year in the third quarter, according to preliminary figures released by Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for Statistics on Sunday.

The contraction was less severe than the 4.7% decline recorded in the second quarter, but it marks the first consecutive quarterly decline since 2023.
