Binance resumes withdrawals today: BTC network opens first, 95% of stolen assets replenished
📌 Reuters/AFP: Binance announced on its status page after 06:00 UTC on 11/1 that withdrawals had resumed. The first BTC network is now open, with the first phase covering 15 assets/networks (including BTC, ETH, BNB, XRP, DOGE, SOL).
📌 TechFlow: Withdrawals of USDC/USDT/ETH on the Ethereum network and USDC/USDT/BNB on the BSC network have also gradually resumed; deposits were unaffected throughout.
📌 Binance says it has replenished 95% of the approximately $6.3 billion in stolen tokens (up from 90% on Saturday). Funds came from company funds, SAFU, and some contract insurance funds. The remaining 5% consists of low-liquidity assets; about $3 billion has been located and frozen. The FBI attributes the case to North Korea’s TraderTraitor.
📌 Market: BTC at about $78,000, up around 0.8% in 24 hours; Fear & Greed Index at 30 (CryptoWave/TokenPost).
【Commentary】
The resumption of withdrawals is the most critical test of trust in this incident—“Can people get their money out?” is more convincing than any statement. Opening withdrawals in batches by network on the first day, with possible delays during peak periods, is a normal risk-control process. If withdrawals remain smooth over the next few days and there is no large-scale run, the market’s fear premium may gradually unwind.
【Opportunities/Risks】
✅ Monitor net outflows from exchanges on-chain: modest outflows that quickly reverse would signal improving sentiment
✅ BTC short-term range: resistance at 78,300–78,600; support at 77,500/77,000 (Blockchain.News)
⚠️ Hackers have converted stablecoins into ETH; laundering and sell-off routes still need to be monitored
⚠️ The 11/2 PoR snapshot and the 11/3 U.S. midterm elections coincide, which may amplify volatility
