【NEAR hasn’t surged—should that make us more nervous?】

My signal is clear: stay on the sidelines, with a bearish bias. I’m not saying it’s definitely going to fall; I just haven’t been given a reason to step in yet.

At $4.37, up 0.7% over 24 hours and down 0.8% over 7 days, it’s caught between support at $4.22 and resistance at $4.65. It hasn’t picked a direction yet. Trading volume has spiked to more than 5% of market cap, so a big move may be approaching—but rising volume only signals disagreement; it doesn’t mean buyers are winning.

The Fear and Greed Index is at 34, still in fear territory, with a weekly average of 42. A sharp drop can lead to a rebound, but “it’s fallen a lot” doesn’t mean the business case is sound. In practice, the $6.3 billion Binance hack, accompanied by $1.57 billion in liquidations, first hurt highly leveraged positions and altcoin liquidity. Without fresh demand to absorb the selling, a spike in NEAR’s volume could just be panic-driven turnover. Who gets affected? People who make a living on leverage.

So whether $4.22 holds will test its resilience, while reclaiming $4.65 would signal strength. If volume rises but price remains stuck below resistance, the bearish case is more convincing. The signal only turns around if it holds $4.22 and reclaims $4.65 on strong volume. This isn’t an instruction—just my read of the market.

I can talk a good game, but when I look back, I still get the itch to trade. Which way are you leaning this time—dare to jump in?
