A little after 1 a.m., I claimed some new tokens for free and figured I could just wait for the official pool to open before selling.
But the contract created the pool on its own, much sooner than I expected. Other people’s bots sold instantly when the pool opened. I didn’t realize what was happening until 18 minutes later, and by the time I sold, the price was down to a fraction of what it had been.
One takeaway from this postmortem: if you’re holding tokens and waiting for a pool to open, set up an automatic sell script first, no matter how long you think you’ll have to wait.
