Pump.fun has issued 24.4 million tokens in total, and only 312 have ever reached a market cap of $100,000—that’s 0.0012%. Over the past couple of days, these figures have been used to hype Stonk.fun: 75 out of 197,664 topped $100,000, or 0.037%—roughly 30 times higher.

Don’t rush to jump ship. Put plainly, 0.037% means that more than 99.96% of the tokens still haven’t even reached $100,000. You’ve just switched to a different queue. And the denominator is more than 100 times smaller. It’s not surprising that a small platform with fewer early users—and developers’ friends getting in first—might produce a few dozen tokens that top $100,000. That doesn’t prove the platform is any cleaner.

One more thing: a bot account dedicated to exposing scams investigated a token using the Stonk name a few days ago. It concluded that the dev team had rugged 12 out of 15 tokens, and the stonk.fun website wasn’t even loading at the time. I’m not saying the two are necessarily connected, but before using success rates to tout a new platform, at least check who’s doing the shouting.

The only sure winner in all this is the platform. An X news roundup says Pump.fun has earned more than $1 billion in fees. Retail traders issue the tokens, retail traders pay the fees, and retail traders are the ones left holding the bag.

Want to trade shitcoins? Fine—just treat it as tuition. Don’t let a headline like “30x the success rate” trick you into switching platforms just to keep paying up.
