According to a breaking report from the Kailan News Agency: The FBI is pursuing North Korean hacker Park Jin-hyok.
He is estimated to have been born in 1981 or 1984.
He is said to be a North Korean national and to speak Korean, English, and Chinese.
Among the incidents in which the U.S. Department of Justice filed charges related to the case are:
① The 2014 cyberattack on Sony Pictures
② The theft of $81 million from the Bangladesh central bank in 2016
③ The “WannaCry” ransomware that crippled the world in 2017
He is suspected of having worked for an organization linked to North Korea’s Reconnaissance General Bureau, and was indicted in the United States in 2018.
The FBI even published his real name and photograph to help capture him, but his last known location is North Korea, making his arrest in person difficult.
