Ripple has received final OCC approval for a national trust bank: Ripple National Trust Bank will manage RLUSD’s segregated reserves, serve as trustee for holders’ collateral, and provide digital asset custody. Issuance will remain with its New York DFS subsidiary, SCTC, and BNY Mellon will remain the primary custodian, according to Ripple’s official announcement. In the same week, Ripple expanded its Robinhood partnership at Swell: RLUSD is now available on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood, while its arrival in the app is slated for later in 2026. Official figures put RLUSD’s market cap at about $2.5 billion; CoinGecko lists spot XRP at about $1.25 (snapshot at around 12:05 Beijing time).

A headline-making license doesn’t mean XRP immediately gets more channels for capital inflows. The trust bank handles reserves and custody, which aren’t automatically linked to on-chain settlement volume. Critics will say the app launch hasn’t happened yet, so there’s no retail impact.

Until the trust bank officially begins operations or Robinhood announces a launch date for RLUSD in its app, treat this as regulatory progress. If neither side delivers a verifiable action within two weeks, consider the progress bar stalled.
