【FBI steps in to help Binance intercept stolen funds!】
The FBI has publicly called on THORSwap, RPC nodes, and various DeFi operators to block transactions from the hacker addresses involved in the Binance theft.
Hackers like using THORChain because it never rejects stolen funds, and earns fees from these swaps. Bybit, Kelp DAO, and Bitget all previously asked it to block transactions after they were hacked, but all were refused.
What is THORChain? In the eyes of hackers, it’s a “mixer”: no account needed, completely anonymous, and with no account to freeze. ETH goes in, BTC comes out, and the money becomes very difficult to trace. In several major exchange hacks in recent years, hackers have relied on it to launder stolen funds.
Analysis: If it blocks them, it loses hacker traffic, and the claim that it “can’t do it” no longer holds. If it doesn’t, it is openly defying the FBI. The “decentralization means no accountability” script will be hard to play out again this time.
