The Bitcoin White Paper turned 18 years old since Satoshi Nakamoto published it, and the traditional financial system that document challenged remains just as bad, if not worse: small merchants and business owners continue to bear the brunt of a system designed to bail out big banks whenever they go bust. Onramp CEO Michael Tanguma puts it plainly: business owners still absorb the costs of a system built on bailouts and debt, while their savings are being diluted. The concrete proposal is for companies to set aside part of their surplus in Bitcoin as a shield against that ongoing erosion. It’s not just a philosophical idea—it’s a strategy that more and more businesses are starting to take seriously. It’s worth asking how many more companies need to go bankrupt or lose purchasing power before corporate Bitcoin adoption stops being the exception and becomes the norm.
