I came across a snapshot of the U-card market dated October 30, covering 230 cards, and it was a bit of a reality check: only 80 (34.8%) clearly disclosed their foreign currency transaction fees in official materials, with a median fee of 1%; of the 216 cards that were still active, 195 (90.3%) explicitly required identity verification, and not a single card was confirmed to be both active and KYC-free. Another 14 cards had been discontinued, and 7 were being wound down.

So now, before applying for a card, I don’t rush in. I check three things first: whether the fees are clearly disclosed, whether KYC is required, and what happens if the card is discontinued. For day-to-day spending, I use PayAll’s card management tools to reconcile transactions—the amounts charged for subscriptions are easy to see at a glance. I freeze cards I don’t use and avoid loading a large sum onto them in advance, topping up only when needed.

Cards are for spending, not hoarding. Do you check the fees before applying for one? $USDT #UCard
