I only wanted to close my position—why did it open a new position in the opposite direction?
First, a definition: In one-way mode, conditional orders such as take-profit and stop-loss orders can also be set to reduce-only. If the position has already been closed when the order is triggered, it won’t open a new position in the opposite direction.
Why it happens: Many unexpected opposite positions result from closing a position twice. You close it manually, then a previously placed take-profit or stop-loss order is triggered later, opening a new position in the opposite direction.

Limiting each loss to a small portion of your account matters more than finding the perfect entry point.
