If you can only stay up late one night next week, which night will it be?
Apple and Palantir report earnings at 6 a.m. Tuesday, AMD follows at 6 a.m. Wednesday, and there’s a nonfarm payrolls report at 9:30 p.m. Friday, with the U.S. midterm elections in between. It’ll be hard to get to bed early this week.
I’m keeping an eye on AMD. After hitting a high of 581 on Wednesday, it had pulled back to around 510 by Friday. It dipped to 493.6 on Friday; if that level doesn’t hold, it could keep sliding. The first hurdle on the way back up is 536. With bulls and bears both speculating ahead of earnings, I wouldn’t bet heavily on the outcome.
