The Binance hacker is speeding up token sales! $TRX has sold about 60% (approximately $130 million)! Since selling TRX began, TRX has fallen 14%.
【TRX: About 61% sold】
As of 06:30 on November 1, Beijing time, block-by-block tracking on the Tron chain shows:
- The hacker could access about 685 million tokens and has sold about 417 million, worth approximately $130 million
- About 270 million tokens remain unsold, worth approximately $81 million: about 65.6 million are in the selling wallet, while the remaining roughly 200 million are spread across downstream intermediary addresses
- Binance spot TRX has fallen from 0.3516 when selling began (around 11:00 on October 30, Beijing time) to 0.3024
【The exit route has changed: from THORChain to DEXs】
- Since 20:23 on October 31, Beijing time, the hacker has stopped sending tokens to THORChain
- Instead, they are selling directly on SunSwap and BWSwap: first splitting the tokens across new addresses, then selling them within a minute of receipt, in batches of 1.2–1.56 million
- The volume sold on DEXs has risen steadily every 3 hours: 28.56 million → 32.57 million → 37.42 million tokens
- At the pace of the last 3 hours (about 12.5 million tokens per hour), the hacker could sell all the TRX they hold in about 20 hours!
- According to THORChain node configuration, swaps on the Tron chain have also been paused since 00:20 on November 1, Beijing time
【Still unsold: XRP, BTC, ETH】
- 233 million XRP, worth about $290 million; not a single token has been transferred out
- $BTC 18,270 tokens, worth about $1.42 billion, spread across 19 addresses; not a single token has moved
- About 523,000 ETH, worth about $1.18 billion; they are unlikely to move in the short term and will probably be gradually sold through coin-mixing services over the long term
【What to make of this】
The hacker who stole about $390 million from Bitget in September is likely the same group behind this Binance hack. When both groups swapped tokens for ETH through THORChain, they used the same recipient address, 0x1510…feb7: one of the Bitget hacker's wallets swapped 349 ETH into this address, and the ETH the Binance hacker received from selling TRX was also sent there.
In that Bitget hack, the hacker obtained about 103 million XRP (worth about $160 million) and swapped it all through THORChain in less than two days, with 90% converted to BTC.
After the TRX is sold, XRP is probably next. Not a single XRP or BTC has moved so far, and there are no on-chain signs of any preparations to move them. What do you think? Which one will be sold next?
Follow me for continued monitoring of the hacker's addresses.
