Chainlink Can Quote Prices on Weekends Too: Don’t Rush to Certify “24/7 Liquidations”

Chainlink has extended pricing for tokenized assets to 7×24, expanding stock-related markets from 24/5 to include weekends, with Aave onboard as a partner. Don’t mistake “prices available on weekends” for “weekend liquidations and lending risk controls are fully enabled.”

This time, check just three things—no need to revisit old ETF flow debates:
1. Where do the prices come from? Trading-session data is combined with reference prices during market closures. During closures, prices are mainly sourced from perpetual markets—not from traditional exchanges still matching orders.
2. Where are they used? First check which product lines and assets are actually integrated. Don’t extrapolate a press release into a protocol-wide default.
3. Can positions be acted on? Check protocol announcements to see whether weekend liquidation settings and collateral parameters adjust by session. Don’t rely on the headline.

7×24 means “continuous pricing”; parameters and liquidation pathways determine whether “weekend positions can be acted on.”
