Brazil gains a new regulated gateway to Sui. Mercado Bitcoin, with 4.5 million customers and authorizations from the Central Bank of Brazil and the CVM, will offer SUI, USDC, and USDsui. It will be the first Brazilian exchange to support transfers of assets on the Sui network.

What the agreement includes:

• Buy, sell, send, and receive SUI, USDC, and USDsui

• USDsui as collateral in the platform's lending product

• Real-time conversion between Brazilian reais and dollar stablecoins via Pix, Brazil's instant payment system

• They are exploring integrating Hashi, Sui’s protocol for on-chain bitcoin lending and borrowing without wrapped versions. There are no offers available yet

The other pillar is tokenization. Mercado Bitcoin will bring its real-world asset platform to Sui, which has issued more than 800 tokenized assets since 2019: receivables, structured credit, consortium shares, and real estate.

The agreement also extends to Europe. Its Portuguese subsidiary is registered with Banco de Portugal and is in the process of obtaining MiCA authorization. According to network data, Sui has moved more than one trillion dollars in stablecoin transfers over the past 12 months.
