Crypto Radar | Not “90% recovered”: Binance says coverage of affected amount has reached 90%

In its security incident recovery update published on October 31, Binance said it had covered approximately 90% of the affected amount, up from around 80% in the previous update. The BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD, and ZEC assets listed by the company are all 100% covered. The remaining approximately 10% consists of tokens outside the top ten with lower liquidity, which Binance is still purchasing through market and OTC channels.

It’s important to distinguish “replenished/covered” from “recovered”: this does not mean all stolen assets have been recovered. Binance says it will absorb the financial impact of this incident rather than pass it on to users. The amount frozen on-chain and the coverage ratio reported here are also different metrics.

Regarding PoR, Binance says the snapshot was taken at 00:00 UTC on October 31 and has been updated. The full zero-knowledge proof is expected to be generated by November 3 UTC. For now, don’t mistake the snapshot for the publication of the complete proof.

Keep an eye on three developments: whether the remaining assets are replenished to 100%, when the full PoR proof goes live, and when withdrawals resume. Binance is currently targeting November 1 (UTC) for the resumption, with details pending official confirmation.
