Everyone, after looking at a few sources, here’s my own synthesis.

The name Lighter has been coming up in crypto circles over the past couple of days. It operates in the on-chain perpetuals space, with an order book built directly on-chain—not the same old thing dressed up as an AMM.

At first, I thought it was just another new project riding the hype. After checking twice, I’m convinced this time there’s real substance behind the buzz. Open interest across on-chain perpetuals is already a game worth tens of billions of dollars. $HYPE is the one in this sector I’m keeping an eye on first; $BTC $ETH is just background context. I’m tracking where the money goes. There are only so many players that can make it, and whoever gets the order book working smoothly first gets to serve up the feast.

When it comes to positioning, there’s no shortage of projects on the stage in decentralized derivatives—but what’s missing is real liquidity. Capital flows toward places with genuine trading volume, and incremental attention goes to the parts that can actually work. In my view, that’s rotation, not a reversal.

How much of the pie do you think on-chain perpetuals can capture? Let’s talk in the comments.

Stay tuned, and don’t get carried away.
