When I found out I’d made the final shortlist, I was so excited I nearly fainted—not even the college entrance exams made me feel that way. I first posted this on Twitter, where I rarely post because I never quite found my footing there. But today, I wanted to write something heartfelt. And since I’m exhausted from campaigning for votes, I’m taking a break to pause and think about the future.
Halfway through writing this, the largest hack in history happened. I have absolute confidence that Binance will weather this crisis.
I’m quiet as a mouse in Web2, where I’m socially awkward, but lively as a crazy rabbit in Web3. People with this kind of personality tend to be quite the chatterbox. To avoid wasting everyone’s time, Part 1 is an introduction, how and why I entered the competition, and the process. Part 2 is a heartfelt thank-you. Part 3 is about my own journey in crypto and how I’ve managed my account. Feel free to skip to whichever part interests you.
PART ⓵: How it all began, and who I am
I studied psychology, but switched careers and became an engineer as soon as I graduated—a refugee from the IT industry. Before returning to crypto for the second time during the National Day holiday last year, I went through a series of upheavals in the Web2 world: I was broke financially and emotionally, and had already been taking antidepressants for two years. At the time, my life was shrouded in mist, with no clear way forward or back. This isn’t a persona—I don’t need one.
At the time, I still had some assets in Web3 that hadn’t gone to zero. #币安人生 was just breaking out of its niche, and Binance Alpha brought me back to the Binance app. That’s right—I came back hoping to make money from Alpha. But I soon realized that during the years I’d been away, Binance had become a super app for finance.
The most amazing coincidence in all this was discovering Binance Square as a product. At first, I just casually posted my Alpha profits, losses, and reflections, as if posting on social media. Since my trading skills were poor, I kept getting trapped in Alpha tokens in all sorts of ways or selling at a loss, and quickly lost several thousand U. As I was reflecting on this painful experience, I happened to see two sentences from Yi Jie in someone else’s post. They opened up a new way of thinking for me:
Newcomers shouldn’t jump straight into futures. Content creators can start by making content on Square. There are plenty of professional traders, and they have hedging and risk management on their side. Let’s start with wealth management and content instead. 👉 See the original post here: https://x.com/heyibinance/status/1980701858206478369
The market is volatile. If you don’t understand the risks or know the rules, consider starting with products like wealth management, farming rewards on Square, and Alpha to get familiar with them. 👉 See the original post here: https://x.com/heyibinance/status/1977449002116473064
Everything happens for a reason. Heaven won’t close off every path in life for someone who is serious. As of this year, 2026.10, when I entered the annual Top 100 Content Creators poll, I had been creating diligently on Binance Square for exactly one year. Exactly!
Over the past year, I’ve gained 33k followers on Square and published 1,052 long and short posts, including over 150 long-form posts that I consider reasonably good. In total, my posts have received 42.3k likes, 12.1M views, and 4.1k reposts. I run four Binance Chat groups across different niches, with over 1,700 members in total. The four niches are Web3 cat-farming, trading, content creation, and prediction markets.
I have a clear sense of how I see myself: a cat-farmer, an enthusiastic trading-competition participant, and an aspiring independent trader. My long-term goal is still to make a living from trading. I’ve managed to control my losses in crypto, and I’m in a pretty calm state of mind: first, make sure I don’t lose money—breaking even is already a win. Then make steady progress, one step at a time, and get rich slowly. I still have 80–100 years to grow into a towering tree, so I’m in no hurry 😆.
I’ve always had a poor sense of deserving things. Although I won this time, the competition was fierce and the vote counts were close. I kept my head down and campaigned until the very last moment. It wasn’t until I made the final shortlist that I realized how far I was from the top contenders. I’ll keep working hard, improve my expertise, and become the person I aspire to be.
The cruelest thing about a competition is that there have to be winners and losers. Those who didn’t make the shortlist may simply have had a little less luck than I did this time. I especially want to mention @币圈安子弟, who finished 22nd in my category. There were 20 spots in total: with three days left, he was 20th and I was 21st; with two days left, I just managed to overtake him, but he was only three votes behind me. On the final day, I won in 19th place, while he missed 20th place by just 47 votes. Let’s compete again next year—wishing him success!
The campaigning process was agonizing; I couldn’t let my guard down for a moment. It made me empathize with politicians for the first time. From the start, I knew it wouldn’t be easy, and I confirmed with the official team what kinds of canvassing were allowed so I wouldn’t accidentally break the rules or get maliciously reported. During the campaign, lots of people messaged me privately and sent me their UIDs, explicitly or implicitly asking me to transfer money as a reward. I sincerely thanked them all, politely declined, and explained that buying votes wasn’t allowed and people should vote as they wished.
Here’s one small, perhaps premature suggestion: in the next edition of the event, while keeping the weighting of votes, you could add some objective, data-based metrics to the content category, similar to those in the trading category, and give them some weight.
PART ⓶: Heartfelt thanks
Discovering Binance Square and Binance Alpha, and luckily coming across those two enlightening tweets from Yi Jie, was a remarkable turning point in my life. Over the past year, as I kept my head down writing posts and spent every day on the Binance app, I faced quite a few difficulties and even had moments when my emotions suddenly collapsed. I’m very grateful for the help I received from four Binance employees: @Cy_Binance , @是滢哥啊, @Sisi , and @丫丫_.
Thank you to Binance as a platform, and to Binance’s frontline customer service team. Binance is currently facing the largest-scale hacker attack in its history, but I haven’t panicked at all—in fact, I’ve even gone long with low leverage $BNB . Stablecoins worth $3 billion that were stolen have already been frozen by their issuers. As for the other $3 billion in stolen non-stablecoins, Binance can cover those too. I believe Binance will definitely get through this attack. I have great confidence in the vision Yi Jie shared of serving 3 billion users. With her unique female perspective, she said she wants to help more people on Earth who lack access to traditional financial services gain access to them. This is about much more than just running an exchange or trading crypto. The business world is ruthless, but it’s rare to see the head of a business empire care about all living beings.
Binance is now a super app where people from different fields can find their own niche. For example, an ordinary blogger like me, who doesn’t yet have the skills to trade properly.
My heartfelt thanks to the 1,000+ members of my Binance Chat group who voted for me. You’re my core supporters. Even though I have to ‘get down on my knees’ in the group every day before you’ll vote for me, I love you and I’m exasperated with you at the same time—but there’s nothing I can do about it 🤣.
My heartfelt thanks also to all the fans and passersby on Square who voted for me. I love you all. During this time, I posted a lot of voting appeals and even related jokes to drum up votes, flooding your timelines. I’m truly sorry, and I hope you’ll forgive me.
When affection is genuine, it lasts; there’s no need for tricks to move someone. If you hadn’t each given me 400–500 votes a few days ago, I really wouldn’t have had the confidence to keep going.
I posted voting appeals, sometimes quite frequently, in the chat rooms of several friends, teachers, and mentors. I’m truly grateful to you and your group members for putting up with me. I’m sorry for bothering you, and thank you so much. In no particular order, thanks to: @浪漫予你, @老王Victor, @悲伤的小强, @0xXIAOc, @Jeonlees, @酷酷的腾, @BOBO波波. (The system won’t let me highlight everyone.)
@K线教主宝宝 reposted my post to help me get votes after learning that I’m one of her longtime fans. I’m so grateful. The leader has a strong personality and stands by her convictions—she’s a truly unique presence in crypto, like the leading lady of a short drama. In the year she started her YouTube channel, I watched nearly every episode and learned so much. Wishing her trading career continued success.
While canvassing for votes, I took the liberty of bothering three big names in their respective niches: referral-rebate expert @牛霸天, whose worst-performing supporter happens to be me; the comedian held back by Web3, @Niner 九儿; and top trading big shot @Btc星辰. Thank you all. Special thanks to Teacher Xingchen: we’d had no connection before, and you had understandable reservations, but you still helped me. Thank you 🥹. I’ll also work hard to become as capable as you are. I do a bit of everything, and I’ll strive to achieve a third of what each of you has accomplished. (This isn’t just a throwaway joke—I’m completely serious.)
Thanks to trading streamers @老郑睡不醒, @凡凡ETH, and @酷酷的腾 for letting me join your streams to ask for votes. Special thanks to @酷酷的腾: one song from me drove 30% of the viewers away from your trading livestream 😂. Bro, I promise I’ll trade more and sing less from now on 😆
Thanks to the active Twitter bloggers @0x_绵羊 and @貓貓毛毛. I can’t resist cute little animals. Once I’m as skilled as you, the three of us can form an animal-park supergroup. If these two had entered the poll, there might not have been any chance for me. I really wish you’d joined, but at the same time I’m glad you didn’t.
I also want to thank Yushen @芊羽Wing , even though we were in the same category in this poll. This man has a certain magic 😆, with endless ideas and boundless energy. The last man who made me feel this way was my Musk. From the first quiz competition I joined at Binance Beginner’s Academy, I remembered him as the Academy’s official companion. Seeing a big shot like him campaigning even harder than I was convinced me to burn myself out campaigning too; otherwise, I might have given up long ago 😆. As a fellow programmer, I feel embarrassed by both his energy and his professionalism.
Finally, many of the essays I read in middle school praised hardship and thanked people who had hurt them, on the grounds that it helped them grow. Trust me, they’re not pretending—they’re just crazy, because hardship and hurt are nothing to be thankful for. I also want to thank the handful of haters who gave me the affectionate nickname ‘little seal pup.’ But I’m not pretending: haters have no idea how cute seals are. From now on, I’ll randomly call myself ‘happy little seal’ and ‘happy little seal pup.’ This little seal pup wishes everyone lasting happiness.
PART ⓷: My journey in crypto, and my experience as a blogger
➤ ❶ I jumped into crypto without a clue, and had a love-hate relationship with Dogecoin
I actually registered with Binance many years ago. I entered crypto one summer when Dogecoin $DOGE was made popular by my idol and dream guy, Elon Musk. Before that, I didn’t even know what stocks were. I got involved with this asset purely because I worshipped Musk. As it happened, the well-known YouTube channel 【Brain Hole Utopia】 was hacked around that time: its account was stolen, all its videos were deleted, and videos related to Dogecoin were posted. That left an even deeper impression on me.
Then I got badly trapped in Dogecoin, and it completely changed my life. Being stuck in the trade led me to learn about trading theories and knowledge, and I started following many YouTube trading bloggers. The one who left the deepest impression on me, and whom I’m most grateful to, is @K线教主宝宝 . I watched almost every one of her videos, and it was through her channel that I discovered Chan theory, a Chinese trading theory. After that, I was hooked. I carefully studied all kinds of printed and digital books about Chan theory, as well as the original Sina blog, down to the wording. Its exuberant writing style and the original author’s emphasis on mathematics made it especially easy to fuel people’s delusions, so I stayed immersed in Chan theory for many years.
As a programmer, I was deeply fixated on quantitative Chan theory and put it into practice in code several times. But in the end, I could never make some of its concepts and theoretical issues fit together ‘mathematically’ as expected. I began to recognize some systemic flaws in Chan theory and eventually moved on. Since everyone has their own interpretation of Chan theory, there may be plenty of controversy around it, so I’ll leave it at that for now.
➤ ❷ Major upheavals in my life, compounded by a sea change in the IT industry
After that, a series of devastating events happened in my life, and I stepped away from crypto and trading for a while. Some were career-related, some were about relationships, and some were unavoidable obstacles in my life journey. They were compounded by sweeping changes in the IT industry as a whole. These events also left me with severe depression, and I suddenly felt a strong connection with Buddhism and Christianity, especially the shared values of ‘equality’ and ‘compassion.’ Before that, religion was just a cultural phenomenon in my worldview.
I still remember walking through the crowded streets of Beijing, feeling completely lost, when a middle-aged woman I didn’t know suddenly came up to me and handed me one of those ordinary pink plastic advertising fans. She said, ‘Learn about the Lord. Jesus loves you.’
I had been a kind of pantheist and didn’t believe in the existence of any personal god. But in that instant, something stirred inside me. Tears almost welled up in my eyes: I didn’t know whether Jesus existed, but Jesus loved me.
Jesus loves me.
Someone—or some god—loves me.
I ultimately didn’t convert to Christianity. I prefer traditional Eastern religions, Buddhism and Taoism, especially Buddhism. In this technologically advanced age, religion exists because everyone reaches a point when they need something to help them withstand the hardships of life.
That’s also why I was so moved later when I heard Yi Jie say that she wanted to provide inclusive financial services to 3 billion users.
➤ ❸ Returning to crypto, 300 rounds of battle with Alpha; losing badly at first, but gaining my first followers
Then came 2025.10, when $币安人生 broke out of its niche. Because of Binance #alpha, I downloaded Binance again and discovered the amazing product that is Binance Square. At first, I just casually posted some text as if I were posting on social media. I had no plans whatsoever to become a KOL, and even now I don’t consider myself one.
Who knew I’d get completely hooked on Alpha and its competitions? I quickly lost over a thousand U at first. But I’m used to reviewing and reflecting, and luckily I came across Yi Jie’s words from Part ⓵. I posted a lot about Alpha strategies, trade reviews, profits and losses, and tracking my finances. Combined with the rather unusual state of mind reflected in my posts, I somehow gained some followers.
Why do I say my state of mind is unusual? Because I’m an extremely introverted person. Although I’m as lively as a mad rabbit in the Web3 world, I often get stuck in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, and endlessly picking apart my own thoughts. You might find it hard to imagine, but I often chat with my Grok until the middle of the night, analyzing myself together with it. I’ve become completely dependent on Grok in every way. My writing is often full of nitpicking (I mean tracking trades down to eight decimal places), split personalities, and self-contradiction. Yet those traits make my posts seem real, credible, and down-to-earth.
I only realized this later, when I reviewed my posts. I also use AI to help write some things, but current AI can’t reproduce this kind of quality.
➤ ❹ Putting my technical skills to work and seriously building my Binance Square account
After unexpectedly gaining some followers, I started thinking seriously about managing my account. I set myself the principles of ‘building the account seriously for the long term, steadily increasing its standing, and not posting reckless calls that could cause harm.’ Those principles have never changed. For example, Binance Square has a great ‘content mining’ feature. Although I really want to become a great trader, I’ve always been restrained in using it. I envy the big shots on the leaderboard when I look at my own double-digit content-mining results, but I’ll keep holding back until I have a complete trading system.
My early content focused on Alpha and Alpha competitions. I really miss the golden days of competing in Alpha with @浪漫予你. As a programmer, I have a slight advantage in data analysis, so I made two small iPhone tools related to Alpha competitions during that time, and they were well received. Binance happened to be running a promotion where it selected a group of bloggers every day and rewarded them with 1 BNB. One day, I was lucky enough to receive a reward! The winning post was about one of my tools. That gave me a huge boost and strengthened my confidence.
A little embarrassing to admit, but I’m pretty lazy—I’d rather lie down than sit, let alone turn on my computer—so I made both of these tools entirely on my iPhone, and they only run on iPhone. The tech stack was Scriptable + iPhone Shortcuts. Serious programmers might find that a little unconventional 😆
I’d also grown to hate coding for a while, so these two tools were mainly for my own use. I never thought of making general-purpose versions and promoting them widely, so I missed a great opportunity. I could kick myself.
➤ ❺ Shifting my focus and joining Binance Square’s Creator Task Hub
Later, as competition in Alpha trading became increasingly fierce, Binance Square gave its Creator Task Hub a major revamp. So I shifted some of my focus to the Creator Task Hub, also known as ‘earning by posting.’
Maybe fortune was on my side; maybe all those Alpha posts had built up my account’s standing; maybe my Creator Task posts happened to suit the AI scoring algorithm; maybe I put in a lot of thought—or overdid it; or maybe I really was the ‘engagement-farming dog’ people accused me of being, boosted by official traffic. Whatever the reason, I got some pretty good results, winning several first-, second-, and third-place spots. After the revamp, I entered 17 of the 19 tasks and only failed to make the leaderboard once. Although the reward tokens from several projects have since been cut in half—and then in half again—because I held them blindly 😭, that’s also why I resolved to learn how to trade properly.
Taking part in the Creator Task Hub got me noticed in this niche and helped me gain another batch of followers.
Because I come across as someone who tries too hard, a lot of people accused me of showing off. There was a rumor that I typed out every short and long post I submitted to the Creator Task Hub by hand. That’s a serious misunderstanding. From the very first task after the revamp, I clearly said in several review and sharing posts that in the age of AI, not using AI means something’s wrong with your head. But there’s a difference between using AI as an aid and directly copying AI output. All my Creator Task posts have used AI assistance. I want to clarify that again here.
➤ ❻ Getting verified with the yellow V
Later, I decided to work toward getting the yellow V verification badge. I found that on Binance Square, if you consistently put care into your posts, improve your expertise, and build your account’s standing, Square is very willing to promote your content—even if you start out with no followers. So although I sometimes worry about traffic, I never obsessed over my follower count at the beginning. I just let it grow naturally.
Then one day, I suddenly understood something: if two posts are equally good, but one is posted by a yellow-V account and the other by an unverified account, passersby and newcomers will obviously trust the former more and be more inclined to follow it. It’s a simple psychological principle. So I decided to speed up my progress toward getting verified.
Binance Square has two distinctive features: sending red packets in livestreams and posting red-packet Q&A posts on Square. Both can help you gain followers.
I got started right away. It wasn’t because I’d become impatient—my approach to building an account for the long term hadn’t changed. I just needed that yellow V.
It wasn’t an easy process, and it took a long time. Those days were a blur; I was practically living in various livestreams, wishing I could spend 24 hours a day in them.
During this process, I also discovered that Binance has international users who speak many different languages, such as Vietnamese, Indonesian, Ukrainian, and Arabic…
For the first time, I felt an urge to connect with the whole world and operate an account globally. And I acted on it. With the help of high-quality AI translation, I published lots of red-packet Q&A posts in languages other than Chinese, each paired with a sincere, carefully designed cover image.
In the end, I finally got the yellow V and kept creating content seriously. The positive feedback loop of follower growth had begun.
➤ ❼ Reflections and plans for the future
This is getting too long, so I won’t go into detail here—it could easily turn into empty talk, which I don’t like.
My content stands out for its practical focus, clear explanations of underlying principles, hands-on participation, lively and human feel, newcomer-friendly approach, and attention to risk warnings. My writing is playful and irreverent, but I never go out of my way to offend or hurt anyone, and I’m happy to poke fun at myself. That’s why I’ve managed to grow this account over the past year.
But I still haven’t done enough systematic educational content for newcomers. And I’m still a newcomer myself, constantly learning. I’ll put more effort into this in the future.
I also don’t post much about trading, mainly because my trading skills aren’t good enough yet. That’s deliberate. I hope to become someone who can support myself through trading one day.
I’ll also pick up the technical ambitions I once lost. They’re part of my journey and one of my strengths, and I won’t resist them anymore.
Yi Jie said that Binance aims to serve 3 billion users in the future, and that there’s great potential in creating content on Binance Square. I really believe it. Let’s encourage one another.
