🔴 A Black Week for Global Markets... Gold, Silver, and Wall Street Under Pressure as a Binance Breach Sparks a New Crisis!

Last week was anything but ordinary in the financial markets. Monetary pressures, inflation, and concerns about the technology sector converged, turning the final days of October into one of the sharpest downturns markets have seen in recent times.

🥇 Gold temporarily loses its shine..

Gold fell about 3.5% on Friday to around $3,881 per ounce, its lowest level since October 2025 and about 30% below its record high of $5,595 set in January.

🥈 Silver takes an even harder hit..

Silver fell about 6.5% in Friday’s session, with its price breaking below $50 per ounce for the first time in 11 months—a clear sign of intense selling pressure and fears of slowing industrial demand.

📉 Wall Street enters a sharp correction..

In the worst session for U.S. stocks since June:

▪️ Nasdaq: down 2.9%.

▪️ S&P 500: down 1.8%.

▪️ Dow Jones: down 1.1%.

The pressure came amid growing concerns over inflated valuations of AI companies and rising capital expenditure, along with Intel shares plunging about 29% after disappointing earnings forecasts.

₿ Binance.. the biggest blow in crypto history?

Binance suffered a security breach involving an estimated $6.3 billion in affected assets, according to reports and preliminary investigations. The incident exposed the risks of breaches in the infrastructure responsible for authorizing withdrawal transactions.

The platform announced it would cover the losses, while billions of dollars’ worth of stolen assets were frozen by stablecoin issuers and other partners.

⚠️ But what brought all these crises together in a single week?

The Fed kept interest rates at 3.75%–4.00%, but struck a hawkish tone, with two members voting in favor of a rate hike. The following day, data showed inflation accelerating to 3.6% according to the PCE index, alongside 3.4% growth in the U.S. economy.

In other words: an economy that remains strong, inflation that isn’t easing fast enough, and oil prices that keep rising.. a combination that fuels fears of prolonged tight monetary policy.

This week’s events remind us of an important truth about markets: no asset is immune to losses, and no safe haven performs the same way in every situation.

Gold is affected by interest rates and liquidity; silver is also affected by industrial demand; stocks are affected by valuations and earnings; and cryptocurrencies are exposed to liquidity, trust, and security risks.

This may be just one phase of the market cycle, or it may be the beginning of a broader repricing of risk.

Either way, preserving capital and managing risk remain more important than trying to catch every market move.
