Apple has integrated Qwen into Apple Intelligence, allowing users in China to access Alibaba’s models directly through Siri, Writing Tools and Visual Intelligence. Developer beta testing begins on November 4, with a rollout to users in China alongside the official iOS release in December. Apple couldn’t launch its AI services in mainland China on its own, and ultimately turned to a local partner. After the news broke, Alibaba shares briefly rose more than 2% in after-hours trading.
