REPERCUSSIONS

The cyberattack on Binance (estimated at around US$6.3 billion in digital assets, of which nearly $3 billion has already been frozen) has had a major impact on the ecosystem.
🔴 Repercussions of the Attack
Crypto Market Decline: Bitcoin’s price fell immediately (retreating toward $77,000), dragging down Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies amid widespread uncertainty.
Mass Liquidations: It triggered the forced liquidation of leveraged positions in the futures market worth more than US$1.5 billion.
Temporary Suspension of Operations: Binance paused withdrawals on the affected networks for up to 48 hours to conduct security audits.
Blow to Institutional Confidence: It exposed vulnerabilities in the signing and administrative access infrastructure of major exchanges.
🛡️ Solutions and Measures Implemented
Full Guarantee of Funds (SAFU): Binance confirmed that it will cover all losses using its Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU) and its own corporate resources.
On-Chain Asset Freeze: Through direct collaboration with centralized stablecoin issuers (such as Tether and Circle), approximately US$3 billion in stolen assets was successfully blocked before it could be laundered.
Technical Review and Restructuring: Withdrawal services were rebuilt, compromised keys were revoked, and access controls for engineering teams were strengthened.
Transparency Through Proof of Reserves: Once the inventory has been restored, Binance will conduct a public Proof of Reserves audit to certify 1:1 coverage of all deposits.
