According to Biji.com, Factory announced its acquisition of Typedef, a data infrastructure startup, and plans to integrate its data-context technology into its Coding Agent, Droid. Typedef can analyze data engineering code such as SQL and map dependencies between database fields, data processing workflows, and downstream reports. For example, changing a field used to join database tables might not stop a program from running, but could cause revenue to be double-counted in financial reports. Typedef can help AI detect these cascading effects in advance and trace problems back to their source when data goes wrong. In tests on its own data engineering tasks, Typedef found that adding this context increased the Agent’s task success rate from 46.4% to 81.5%.
