🚨 THE BIGGEST HACK IN CRYPTO HISTORY JUST HAPPENED
It wasn’t on the blockchain. It was on a LAPTOP.
Binance confirmed: attackers gained access through a compromised laptop belonging to a DevOps engineer and made unauthorized withdrawals.
What happened:
• $3B have already been frozen (mostly in stablecoins; Tether and Circle paused them within hours)
• $2.4B in BTC and ETH are still in the attackers’ wallets and CANNOT be paused
• BTC immediately dropped to $76k (-4%)
The previous record was Bybit in 2025, at $1.5B. This one is 4x bigger.
The lesson nobody wants to hear:
The money that was saved was CENTRALIZED (a stablecoin that a company can freeze)
The money that escaped was DECENTRALIZED (BTC, ETH that nobody controls)
Is that good or bad? It depends on which side you're on.
Binance promised to cover all customer losses.
What about you? Do you still leave everything on the exchange, or are you already using a cold wallet?
Comment: do you trust the exchange 100%?
