Ethereum acceleration layer Optimum has pushed its official dashboard to about 3.36 million ETH: the covered stake is worth about $7.6 billion, nearly 8% of all staked ETH. mump2p went live on mainnet on October 20. It doesn’t change consensus, but speeds up block propagation by about 2–4x, and validators can join for free; a Blockdaemon case study was also posted that day. CoinGecko spot ETH is about $2,238 (snapshot at around 12:08 Beijing time).
This looks more like node operators competing for a few milliseconds of propagation advantage, not another new pool that requires locking up funds. Skeptics will point out that TVB is a measure of stake behind connected nodes, not money deposited with Optimum; if coverage stalls after the launch-day surge, the story loses substance.
Over the next two weeks, watch whether official TVB can stay above 3 million ETH and whether a second large operator publishes a verifiable report. If it can’t hold that level or the list shrinks, treat this as a mainnet-launch blip, not evidence that Ethereum has replaced its network-layer foundation.
