WHAT SHOULD A RETAIL TRADER DO DURING THIS DIP
Just alone, watching the screen.
GOLD BELOW $4,000. BTC UNDER PRESSURE.
I want to be honest with you today.
Most posts on this board right now are telling you to buy the dip. Some are telling you to sell everything. Both are guessing. Neither is research.
Here is what I actually know right now.
Gold is down nearly 4% in October. BTC is under pressure from both macro fear and the largest crypto hack in history. Oil is above $100 which means inflation fear is not going away. The Fed held rates but December is still open. And withdrawals on Binance are temporarily paused.
This is not one bad candle. This is a convergence of three separate problems at the same time.
So what does a retail trader with no Bloomberg terminal and no risk manager actually do?
First. Do not trade the emotion of the moment. The worst trades in my life came when I was reacting to what I felt, not what I could verify. Right now the feeling is fear. Fear is the worst trading signal there is.
Second. Reduce exposure, do not increase it. If you are holding positions that are hurting right now, this is not the time to average down. This is the time to ask honestly how much more you can lose before this becomes a real problem for your family.
Third. Watch, do not click. Watch where the support levels hold or break. Watch whether BTC can defend $80,000. Watch whether gold finds buyers near $3,800. Watch whether Binance withdrawal pause leads to further selling. Information first. Action second.
Fourth. Cash is not failure. Sitting on the side of the road while traffic is jammed is not weakness. It is the only move that guarantees you will still have capital when the road clears.
Fifth. Do not borrow. Not to maintain a membership level. Not to average down. Not to catch a bottom. Borrowed money in a falling market has destroyed more families than any crash.
I do not claim to predict every candle. I want to understand WHY. And right now WHY says: wait, watch, protect.
What is the hardest part of doing nothing when the market is moving?
