When 20 markets are laid out at once, the easiest mistake to make is wanting to bet a little on everything.
I use three rules to choose:
① Only pick markets where I can explain my reasoning in one sentence. If I can't, I skip them;
② Pick markets where consensus hasn't formed yet—that's where there's room in the odds. One-sided markets have less upside and more to give back;
③ Bet on no more than two markets in the same direction, so positions that rise and fall together don't turn into a single bet.
Points are limited, and attention even more so. I'd rather bet on fewer markets and understand my picks.
