On the same Layer 2 network, why did transaction fees drop so dramatically after the Cancun upgrade?
EIP-4844 introduced a new type of transaction that carries blobs. Each blob consists of 4,096 data units of 32 bytes each, or about 128 KB.
When demand for blobs surges, blob fees rise too. Layer 2 fees won’t always stay this cheap.
When Layer 2 networks submit blob data to mainnet, the blob fees are also paid in $ETH . The current price is 2246.43.
