Blob data can’t be read by the EVM; contracts only see versioned hashes derived from the blobs’ KZG commitments.
Honestly, I only figured this out later: when demand for blobs suddenly increases, blob fees will rise too. Layer 2 transaction fees aren’t always that cheap.
When Layer 2 networks write blob data to mainnet, they pay blob fees in $ETH as well. Current price: 2243.23.
Be extra cautious of projects promising stable, high returns.
