A massive shock! Intel shares $INTC plunged nearly 30% in a single day, their worst drop in more than 50 years. The market was shaken by an extremely disappointing Q4 forecast.

The main reason? Q4 revenue is forecast at just $15–16 billion, with EPS of $0.25—well below expectations. In particular, the PC market is seriously weakening, and the downturn is expected to last until mid-2027. That’s terrible news for the chip giant.

And that’s not all: a factory explosion in Israel also caused $600 million in lost revenue. Although Intel’s AI business is still growing strongly, supply chain issues and enormous investment costs are eroding confidence.

Investors are seriously questioning CEO Lip-Bu Tan’s turnaround strategy. Money is pouring into new manufacturing investments, but positive cash flow has yet to materialize. Combined with a prolonged slump in the PC market, this leaves the “turnaround” facing a big question mark.

Even tech giants aren’t immune to volatility. Could this signal a challenging period ahead for the entire tech market?
