“November unlocks are 13% lower than October, easing selling pressure.” I’ve seen this claim several times already. It’s just using the overall total to mislead people.

Here are Tokenomist’s figures: over $1.7 billion for the whole of November, versus about $1.97 billion in October. Sounds lower. But look at the biggest daily unlock: on November 6, a single HYPE unlock was worth $923M—one token accounted for more than half the month’s total. The rest—SUI at $11.7M, ENA at $17.6M, and MMT at $32.4M—add up to less than a tenth of that one HYPE unlock.

So the conclusion that “overall selling pressure is down” is absolutely useless if you’re holding altcoins. If you don’t hold HYPE, the monthly total has nothing to do with you. If you do hold HYPE, the monthly total is even less relevant—just keep your eye on that one day.

One more thing: different sources don’t even use consistent figures. Tokenomist says the biggest unlock on November 1 was SUI at $11.7M; UZX puts SUI at $13.1M; and another account lists MemeCore (M) at around $58.2M on November 1. If the biggest unlock on the same day can vary by several times, shill accounts will just pick whichever figure suits them.

My approach is simple: when I check an unlock schedule, I only look at two things—what percentage of the circulating supply is being unlocked, and who it’s going to (the team/investors or the ecosystem). The total dollar value is for people writing headlines.
