Binance is investigating a security incident that may involve billions of dollars and is linked to an Ethereum wallet belonging to the platform. A Binance spokesperson said Thursday that it has not yet been confirmed whether customer funds were affected. Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao said the activity appears to be linked to a cyberattack, and that Tether and Circle froze about $971 million and $823 million, respectively. Zhao added that he expects customer funds to be fully protected. Blockchain researcher Spreek was the first to raise concerns about transfers from an Ethereum wallet linked to Binance.
