Binance co-CEO He Yi eased the market’s biggest concern on October 30: there’s no need to put the entire $6.3 billion back into the market to buy crypto. She said that Binance’s day-to-day revenue and most of its holdings are in crypto assets that largely match the stolen assets, and only a small amount needs to be purchased through spot or OTC channels.

The theft amounted to about $6.3 billion, and industry partners have frozen about $3 billion. After deducting approximately $1.157 billion in SAFU funds, Odaily estimates the remaining shortfall at about $2.14 billion—that’s its calculation, not Binance’s figure. Only a small portion of that actually needs to be purchased on the market.

Proof of Reserves will be updated in the coming days, making it possible to check whether the holdings of each asset have been replenished. November 1 was originally Binance’s regular monthly PoR publication date.
