Honestly, I’m a little rattled. To be frank, after 11 p.m., I watched XAUT slide all the way from 4,030 to 3,922—a 2.5% drop in 24 hours. For a gold-backed token to move this much shows the selling pressure is real.
The 4-hour candle in my system turned bearish this evening. My grid got buy orders filled at both 3,960 and 3,935, and I’m sitting on unrealized losses now. I’d been feeling pretty good, thinking gold was stable, but now I’m clearly stuck in a position. BTC was even worse, falling 4.5% to 77,545 and dipping as low as 76,500. Ξ ETH fell 4.2% to 2,247. That $1.5B in liquidated leverage across the market didn’t happen for nothing—risk assets took a hit across the board, and XAUT didn’t hold up as a safe haven this time.
Long story short, the system’s signal is bearish, but it hasn’t reached the point where I’d short a breakout. For now, I’m neither adding to my position nor cutting it. I’ll wait and see if it can find support near that low of 3,892. I’m numb. Seriously.
