After $6.3 billion was stolen, research reports from three Wall Street firms on October 30 all recommended buying the dip. Ramsey El-Assal of Cantor Fitzgerald said, “It’s painful, but this isn’t 2022.”

The reason: the response was fast enough. Tether froze more than $1.5 billion, Circle around $800 million, and Binance said the total frozen was around $3 billion. TD Cowen attributed the problem to Binance’s own signing infrastructure, not Bitcoin. Yet on the same day, Coinbase and Strategy each fell around 12%.

The disagreement isn’t about the amount stolen, but about payouts: Compass Point warned that payouts could squeeze stablecoin supply, and is watching the $$BTC 75000–$77000 range. Next, watch whether the total stablecoin supply shrinks significantly during the payout period.
