A Binance hacker mistakenly transferred 18 types of tokens worth $3.32 million, including NEWT, to the NEWT token contract address.
These mistakenly transferred funds are permanently lost, and the NEWT project team cannot recover them:
The NEWT Foundation says that admin privileges for the NEWT token contract were renounced in 2025, and the contract’s upgrade function was disabled. So no one can remove these mistakenly transferred tokens from the NEWT token contract—they are effectively burned.
