First, to be clear: Circle has not announced an Arc airdrop. There are no eligibility rules, snapshot date, or claim date. Although 10 billion ARC tokens have completed genesis minting, the official statement makes clear that this does not mean a public launch or distribution. This article only explains how to keep a verifiable record of participation and makes no promises of returns.

What is Arc?

An EVM-compatible Layer 1 launched by Circle, Arc aims to bring stablecoins and real-world economic activity on-chain. Gas is paid directly in USDC, making fees easy to understand because they’re denominated in US dollars. The mainnet is live, with more than 100 applications in its ecosystem. At present, there are two clear ways to leave a record of participation: Architects points in Arc House, and USDC activity on the mainnet.

A zero-cost route: start with these two steps

Step one: Sign up for Arc House. It’s the official free community hub. Register with your email or LinkedIn and complete your profile. You’ll find information about events, hackathons, and regional chapters there.

Step two: Take part in the Architects program. It’s available right inside Arc House, so there’s no separate application. You earn points for contributions recognized by the official program, such as creating content, attending events, helping the community, and submitting projects. Read the contribution guidelines before submitting. Points correspond to different levels and badges.

Step three: Try the testnet for free. Manually add Arc Testnet to your wallet with these details: Network name: Arc Testnet; RPC: rpc.testnet.arc.io; Chain ID: 5042002; Currency symbol: USDC; Explorer: explorer.testnet.arc.io. Then go to Circle’s official faucet, select Arc Testnet, and paste your address to claim 20 test USDC. You can claim once per address every 2 hours. Test USDC is for testing only and cannot be used on mainnet.

The mainnet route has real costs, so proceed within your means

Mainnet network details: Network name: Arc; RPC: rpc.mainnet.arc.io; Chain ID: 5042; Currency symbol: USDC; Explorer: explorer.arc.io. You’ll need to transfer USDC to the Arc network first. The official cross-chain portal is Arc Portal. On-chain activities include swapping USDC, EURC, and cirBTC on Uniswap or Arc-native platforms such as Synthra and UnitFlow; depositing USDC or EURC into Aave V4 or Morpho vaults; and trading stablecoin forex or perpetuals on Hibachi. Note that Synthra has its own confirmed points program, which is a separate track from other mainnet activities. Developers can also use Arc Studio to build and deploy apps. Submitting them to Arc House can earn Architects points too.

A few common pitfalls to watch out for

First, make sure you have the right chain ID: 5042 for mainnet and 5042002 for testnet. The so-called ARC Testnet with chain ID 1244 is a different chain. The old rpc.testnet.arc.network address could no longer be resolved when tested on October 19, so don’t use outdated addresses. Second, mainnet activities require real USDC for gas and transactions. Don’t spend more than you can afford just to chase points; spreading activity over several weeks looks more like genuine use than cramming it all into one day. Third, stick to official channels. Any page asking you to claim ARC tokens in advance or participate in a presale is not official Circle.

In short: The no-cost way to participate is to earn Arc House points and try the testnet. Mainnet USDC activities are optional extras, but no airdrop has been officially announced so far. Will you start with the free route, or go straight to mainnet to build a track record?
