Uniswap, venture capital firm a16z and the DeFi Education Fund are seeking an exemption for decentralized finance activities under Illinois’ crypto tax rules. According to ChainCatcher, they argue that wallet withdrawals and cross-chain bridging should not be subject to taxes calculated based on asset value, and are calling for the removal of private-key recordkeeping requirements.
