The cyberattacked crypto exchange Binance has reiterated its assurance that it will cover the total losses caused by the incident using its own corporate funds.
International media report that, according to the company’s latest statement, it has already set aside more than $6.3 billion for this purpose—an amount equivalent to the losses incurred.
According to a statement issued by Binance, $5 billion of the allocated $6.3 billion is already being held in the exact token assets that were attacked.
The international report says the company stated that it is acquiring funds through various channels to cover the remaining losses, which may take some time, and that it will provide updates on its progress as soon as possible.
Binance has stated that the aforementioned $6.3 billion does not include assets frozen during investigations, and that the process of recovering and verifying those funds is still ongoing.
