👀 BINANCE HACKER MISTAKENLY TRANSFERS $3.5 MILLION WORTH OF TOKENS INTO NEWT CONTRACT AND PERMANENTLY LOCKS THEM
According to the Newton Foundation, the attacker mistakenly transferred around 8 million $NEWT, along with 17 other types of tokens worth a total of approximately $3.5 million, directly into the $NEWT token contract.
Notably, the contract cannot be upgraded, nor can assets be recovered from it. All of the tokens have been permanently locked, and the hacker cannot control them or sell them on the market.
The Newton Foundation confirmed that the contract was not attacked and has shared the investigation findings with Binance.
