📉 After breaking below the key $80,000 level, the market entered a classic liquidation cascade. This move’s technical structure is worth breaking down.

First, the context: Binance experienced a security incident yesterday. The exchange said it had suspended deposits and withdrawals while conducting security checks, and pledged to cover any losses. Combined with weakness in U.S. tech stocks, this quickly dampened risk appetite, and $BTC briefly fell below $80,000.

The data shows this wasn’t a mild correction, but a forced deleveraging event:
According to CoinGlass, roughly $1.5 billion in positions were liquidated across the market over the past 24 hours. Long positions accounted for about $1.29 billion, or more than 80% of the total. Liquidations tied to $BTC were around $500 million, while ETH liquidations were about $350 million. Longs bore the brunt.

A technical breakdown:
First, $80,000 was a key psychological and support level for this cycle. Losing it triggered a cascade of stop-losses and liquidations, which was the main reason for the accelerated decline—not any single news event by itself.
Second, the price found a floor near $76,460 and rebounded to around $78,500, showing that buyers are still stepping in at lower levels. However, the rebound is not yet strong enough to confirm a reversal.
Third, the current price is around $77,518 (down about 3.2% over 24 hours). ETH is around $2,224 (down about 4.1%), BNB around $702 (down about 6%), and Solana around $96.50 (down about 3.7%). This is a broad market decline, and fear has clearly intensified.

Watch these three levels next:
Support below: the $76,000–$76,500 range. If it fails to hold, the market may continue lower in search of support.
Resistance above: $78,500 is the first hurdle for a short-term rebound; $80,000–$81,000 is the dividing line between bulls and bears.
Only once the price is back above $80,000 and holding there can we say this sharp drop is over. Until then, treat any rebound as a weak one.

Two reminders for trading: First, don’t chase shorts in a panic, and don’t go all-in on a dip before there are signs of stabilization. Second, reduce leverage and keep enough margin in reserve. Wait for official updates on Binance resuming deposits and withdrawals, as well as signs that the price is holding steady, before making a decision.

Do you think the $76,000 low will hold, or will this move continue to probe lower?
